LYC 2015 aims to provide young people with an empowering and inspiring environment offering a wealth of knowledge in the form of information stands, educational workshops and entertainment! Elevating Success – working in partnership with Lewisham Homes - the main sponsor, is committed to improving the life chances of young people in its communities. This event will inspire and empower the young people attending, with the ultimate aim of attendees leaving with the knowledge and motivation needed to achieve their dreams. Eddie Kadi (Host)

Eddie Kadi is a comedian from Fulham with his own brand of comedy that will no doubt have you in stitches. He's been listed as a Top 5 UK Comedy Talent by Channel 4 and starred in films such as Shank, Area Boys and Annuvahood. Eddie hosted the Momentum 2012 Youth conference, and now he's back for another set. Get excited!

Ashley Walters (also known as Asher D) is an English rapper and actor. Musically, he is best known as Asher D in the group So Solid Crew, Walters is also an actor, Shows that he has appeared in are BBC TV drama Hustle and silent Witness and Doctor Who as well as the main character Dushane in the second series of Top Boy. We welcome Ashley to the 2015 Lewisham Youth Conference

Bianca Miller founded The Be Group in 2012. As well as running her business, Bianca facilitates workshops and mentors graduates as part of the Brunel University. Bianca’s outstanding business competence, clout and proficiency took her to the final of The Apprentice in 2014, where she impressed Lord Sugar with her passion, hard graft and dedication. Bianca, we welcome you toLYC 2015.

Reprezent - DJ Workshop with Afro B

DJ Afro B will be heading down to Lewisham Youth Conference to talk about the DJ industry, sharing tips, demonstrating and even letting some of the young people have a try on the decks.

Built2Last Workshop

The Built2Last workshop is designed to inspire you to enter the technology industry by showing you the opportunities available on your doorstop and how you can get involved. Mark Martin’s tech insight will empower you to think about the careers available in the tech world and what digital skills are the most sought after in the industry.

StepUp2Education Workshop

The StepUp2Education workshop seeks to inspire and equip those looking to head to University with the necessary tools and inside knowledge. Led by University Graduates and current students the workshop will inspire prospective students. Empowering them with knowledge they need to thrive in the university environment and seize the opportunities presented to them. Including employment opportunities, money management, accommodation and tips on the process of applying to University to name a few!

Lead Your Ship Workshop

The Lead Your Ship Workshop, presented by BelEve UK, delivers a strong message to help empower and inspire young women to take control of their own lives, improving soft skills such as leadership and communication in the process, as well as furthering insight into their own futures. In this session, participants will have the opportunity to create and navigate their own ‘ships’ towards a successful future, raising their aspirations and achieving goals along the way.

"Keep Safe Workshop”

Gather essential tips and advice on how to stay safe in three environments - the home, online and on the streets. Delivered by The Metropolitan Police, find out the do’s and don’ts of Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram, recognise domestic violence and how to avoid becoming a victim of it and update your knowledge of staying safe on the streets." There will also be time for a Questions and Answers on the day.
